Our Operations

Our mining operations are located in the village of La Loma, municipality of Paso, department of Cesar, Colombia, from where we extract high quality thermal coal from the La Francia and El Hatillo minesl. Each mine has a classification and processing area with direct access to a railway loop, where our coal is dispatched to end customers.

CNR’s counts with a rail operation from the mines to the coal ports of Ciénaga, Magdalena and is a shareholder and operator of the FENOCO railway concession. We ensure that all our activities are carried out with all the highest quality standards of the mining and railway sector.

We proudly generate approximately 1,000 direct jobs, associated with our mining and railway operations. We provide our human capital with the resources and motivation to deliver value to our groups of interest, always complying with occupational health and safety standards.

La Francia Mine

La Francia is a an open pit mine that corresponds to Mining Title 5160 and GAK-152, covering a total area of 1,035 Hectares.

The mine counts with an environmental licence regulated by the National Authority of Environmental Licenses (ANLA).

El Hatillo Mine

El Hatillo mine is an open pit mine that corresponds to the Mining Title 147-97, covering a total area of 9,638 Hectares.

Rail Operation

We have a modern fleet of rail rolling stock capable of transporting up to 10 million metric tons per year between the mines and ports in Ciénaga, Magdalena. CNR is a shareholder and operator of the FENOCO concession and since 2022 our trains are operating an intermodal train from the Port of Santa Marta to La Dorada, Caldas, moving different loads such as containers, coffee, steel, fertilizers, among others.
